EHS Insight and Safety Space are two of the few safety platforms that let you ask ChatGPT, Claude or Microsoft Copilot about your safety data through an MCP connector. So if that is what brought you here, you are choosing between two real options, not one. This page sets out where they differ. We make Safety Space, so read it with that in mind. Every claim about EHS Insight comes from its public pages as at October 2026, and we have linked the sources so you can check.
The short version
- Both have an MCP connector for ChatGPT, Claude and Microsoft Copilot.
- EHS Insight's connector is described as read-only. Safety Space's can read and write, so a user can log a near miss or raise an action from the assistant.
- EHS Insight lists more named AI modules, including photo hazard detection and SDS extraction. Safety Space concentrates on report generation, chat with your data, suggested actions and AI-written SWMS, JSA and SOP documents.
- EHS Insight is a US platform. Safety Space is built for Australia and New Zealand.
- EHS Insight quotes 30 to 60 days for a standard implementation and annual contracts from $5k per year for SMB. Safety Space is live in one to two weeks, month to month.

Where EHS Insight is the better choice
Being honest about this is the point of the page. Choose EHS Insight if:
- You want the longest list of named AI modules, and photo hazard detection or SDS extraction are on your must-have list.
- You are a multinational with a US or European head office that is already standardising on it.
- You prefer a self-serve, OAuth-style connector that your own admin switches on, and read-only is what your security team wants.
- You have an IT team and a 30 to 60 day implementation window is fine.
Where Safety Space is the better choice
Choose Safety Space if:
- You operate in Australia or New Zealand and want WHS Act and Health and Safety at Work Act terminology, SWMS, high-risk construction work and LTIFR and TRIFR reporting built in, with local onboarding.
- You want the assistant to do things, not just answer. Logging a near miss or raising an action from Copilot is a read-write feature.
- You want AI to write the SWMS, JSA or SOP draft, not just summarise documents.
- You want to be live in one to two weeks, pay month to month, and have the platform customised to your forms without an extra charge.
Questions to ask both vendors
- Can the AI assistant change records, and if so, is every change logged against a named user?
- Is customer data used to train models, by you or your AI provider?
- What exactly is sent to the AI provider for a given question?
- Where is our data hosted, and can we see the sub-processor list?
- What does implementation include, and who does the configuration?
- What happens to the price when we add a site or fifty contractors?
